CHEJ: Ohio Communities Take Steps to Stop Hydrofracking
July 15, 2011, 9:15 am

A big hats off to Ohio citizens and their elected officials who have passed resolutions asking for a moratorium on hydrofracking. Yellow Springs is the latest Ohio city to join the ranks of enlightened elected officials who are saying, “Slow this down.” Other communities that have taken steps to curb this destructive industrial process of  drilling for natural gas and oil include Plain Township, Canton and Garrettsville.
Meanwhile, a big thumbs down to every member of the Ohio House of Representatives who voted last week to open up all the state parks in Ohio to hydrofracking.
The more citizens who join together in this battle on fracking, the more victories we will see. Visit CHEJ’s campaign webpage, www.nofrackohio.org, to keep up with the latest news.
