EPA: Latest Information on America’s Children and the Environment

America’s Children and the Environment – www.epa.gov/envirohealth/children.

1.  Updated data for several key children’s environmental health topics are now available on the America’s Children and the Environment website.  The following measures now have all been updated to include data through 2008: 
    • E1 – Criteria air pollutants
    • E6 – Drinking water contaminants
    • B1 – Blood lead
    • B5 – Blood cotinine
    • D1 – Asthma

2.  Updates to additional measures will be posted later in 2010.  A notice will be sent out through this listserv when these additional updates are available. 

3.  EPA is now working on the third edition of America’s Children and the Environment (ACE3).  Previous printed editions of the report were published in 2000 and 2003, and updates to the indicators have been provided online annually beginning in 2006.  The new edition will update content from the 2003 edition, and will include several new topics and indicators.  Publication is planned for 2011. 

Further information on ACE3 will be provided through this listserv, and at http://www.epa.gov/envirohealth/children/ace3.html, in Fall 2010.
