Ohio Hospitals are leading the way when it comes to pollution prevention and waste stream management. The Ohio Hospital Association has been awarded a grant from the Ohio Environmental Education Fund to educate hospitals, healthcare workers, and the public regarding proper disposal of medication.

The OHA Environmental Leadership Council will be hosting a roundtable at the Greater Cincinnati Health Council at 2100 Sherman Ave. on May 19 from 1:00 – 4:00 in conference rooms A and B.  You are invited to come. The speakers are from the Ohio River Valley Sanitation Commission speaking on the ecological (biological) concerns such as fish health and greater risks to the ecosystem, public awareness programs/take-back programs are the “low-hanging fruit”. And we will hear from Mike Puccini how retail pharmacy is frustrated by the regulations that keep the corner drug store from being “responsibly” involved. The Ohio EPA (OCAPP) will be present to answer questions.  There will be time for you share your thoughts, what your facility is doing in this area as well as other P2 issues. .

Please RSVP to Susan Zabo at 614.738.2186 or email<> by May 11.
