Rainforest Action Network: “Crude” Screening
December 2, 2009, 10:28 am

Please join us on December 8 for a screening of a movie you absolutely must see. CRUDE is an award-winning documentary film that chronicles the epic battle to hold oil giant Chevron, the owner of Texaco, accountable for its systematic contamination of the Ecuadorian Amazon an environmental tragedy experts call “the Rainforest Chernobyl.”

Centering on a $27 billion lawsuit filed by the Indigenous people and campesinos who continue to suffer a severe public health crisis caused by Chevron’s contamination, CRUDE is a high-stakes David vs. Goliath legal drama with 30,000 Amazon rainforest dwellers facing down the fifth largest corporation on the planet.

Rainforest Action Network has teamed with up with Amazon Watch to help promote screenings and events around the premier of this incredible film. Please join us for a screening at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus on December 8 at 7pm.

In exchange for a free movie ticket, we are seeking volunteers to be present after screenings of CRUDE to pass out educational information and get petition signatures in support of our efforts to hold Chevron accountable. It’s easy – the film does most of the work for you and we’ll make sure you have the info and materials that you need. Please email me at mramos@ran.org if you can volunteer for an evening.

Please join us for this exciting movie screening and invite your friends!
