The Ohio Nurses Association is proud to introduce Green Buckeye RN, a website dedicated to informing nurses about environmental issues in health care. The site includes discussion of national and local environmental/public health issues as well as links to existing websites and other resources.
Key components of Green Buckeye RN include current environmental and public health news; information about “going green,” meaning how to improve the environment/public health at work, at home and in the community; spotlighting a current high-profile environmental issue; links to existing resources; opportunities for environmental advocacy; and information about educational and grant opportunities.
Green Buckeye RN is funded by a mini-grant from Health Care Without Harm and was requested as a project by the Red Team of the Nursing 2015 initiative. In addition, the project is supported by the Ohio Nurses Association as part of an ongoing initiative to educate nurses about environmental health.
For more information regarding Green Buckeye RN, please contact Kathleen Morris, Director of Nursing Practice for the Ohio Nurses Association at 614-448-1026 or kmorris@ohnurses.org.
