Going Green in Health Care: Protecting Health & Hospital Dollars will be conducted by Gary Cohen from Health Care Without Harm on November 19, 2008 from 8:30-11:45 AM (Chicago, Illinois).

  • Examine the financial and environmental benefits when hospitals become more efficient with material and energy resources.
  • Discuss cost/benefit issues behind health-friendly purchasing and operational decisions.

 This 3 hour pre-conference at both events will focus on the financial and environmental benefits when hospitals become more efficient with material and energy resources.  The faculty will examine cost/benefit issues behind health-friendly purchasing and operational decisions and how healthcare executives can be successful in this fast-moving area. Best practices about going green and winning community support will be shared by a clinician from an area hospital.  Attendees will be able to take a proactive stance to begin implementing eco-friendly techniques into their organizations.
